Demeter complies and takes her daughter to a valley, where she sits near a stream. She comes up to Demeter and advises her to hide Persephone someplace, to "protect her from the Gods". Aphrodite is jealous that Persephone is getting all the male attention. Hephaestus alongside Poseidon and Zeus, look at Apollo and Persephone jealously in the distance, they themselves wanting to be the ones to capture her attention. Hades and Persephone rather quickly married one another and later had a daughter named Makaria together. Luckily, however, Zeus made an agreement with Hades to have Persephone spend half the year in the Underworld and the other half with her mother, or else Demeter would cease to allow the crops to grow. This resulted in Demeter being very angry and upset for having her daughter taken away from her at such short notice and unable to come back home to her. One day Persephone went to Mount Olympus for the first time with her mother, Demeter, where many of the Gods showed a romantic interest in her, such as Apollo, Hermes, and Hephaestus, Hades also spotted and abducted Persephone, because he fancied her too, Persephone also became bound to Hades' home, The Underworld from eating pomegranate seeds from a pomegranate which grew down there. Demeter raised Persephone as a single mother, away from Mount Olympus, where she became her most beloved child. Persephone, was born in an affair between the Gods, Zeus, and Demeter.
